Warehouse workflows in Maestro OS by MASTERPLAST
Maestro OS models warehouse work through receipts, batches, movements, balances, reservations and quality holds. This guide explains how those records relate to a manufacturing workflow and where a reviewed draft differs from a completed stock operation. Availability depends on the installation, access rights and enabled controls.
Start with a traceable receipt
A useful warehouse receipt identifies what arrived, how much arrived and where it belongs. Maestro's receipt movement service records the received quantity together with the article, effective article, coverage article, colour and warehouse reference, and links the movement to its source receipt. Before posting, an operator should compare the delivery with the expected material and resolve differences in identity or quantity. Keep the physical delivery, the document and the proposed software record distinguishable during that review. The enterprise ledger also has a separate opening balance draft path. An opening draft is a starting record to inspect and approve; its existence alone does not establish that the corresponding material has been physically received or made available for production.
Read availability alongside reservations and quality status
A single total does not explain whether material can be used. The enterprise balance services represent available, reserved and quarantined quantities separately, while batches retain their own identity and status. Read the relevant company, facility and warehouse scope before interpreting the result. There is also a legacy balance projection grouped by article references and colour; it should not be assumed to carry every control of the enterprise ledger. For planning, examine the balance together with its supporting batches and movements. If a quantity is reserved or held for quality review, do not silently treat it as unrestricted stock. Resolve the underlying reservation or quality process through its own reviewed workflow, rather than changing a displayed number to make a production plan appear feasible.
Separate a proposed action from a posted movement
The code provides draft reservation records, approval steps and guarded receipt posting, including a route that posts material into quarantine first. These are distinct stages with different consequences. A reservation draft is a reviewable proposal; it is not evidence that automatic allocation is active. Similarly, approval of a receipt posting precedes the transaction that creates its ledger effects. The guarded posting service checks the approved state and applicable safety controls, then records the related batch, movement, quality hold and balance effects in its transaction. Operators should inspect the final posting state and its references after an action. A pending event or a draft record should never be used as a substitute for confirmation that the intended stock transition actually completed.
Connect warehouse evidence to manufacturing decisions
Warehouse records become useful to manufacturing when article identity, finish, quantity and location match the materials requested by the production plan. Check these attributes before promising that a cutting job can proceed. A reusable remnant proposed by a cutting result is not yet measured warehouse stock: receipt, identification and any quality decision still need to be recorded through the applicable process. Maestro's services retain audit and event references for relevant transitions and use idempotency keys in several draft and posting paths to distinguish a repeated request from a new operation. Before adoption, confirm the installed schema, feature flags, user permissions and supported posting route with the administrator, then reconcile a controlled sample against physical stock. This documentation describes implemented workflow boundaries, not the live inventory or enabled configuration of any particular business.
